More about me

The one thing I am passionate about...

I'm passionate about exploring life through personal development. I think that comes in many forms - reading, traveling, learning a new skill or art, trying new adventure sports, talking with friends, spiritual practice, personal creative projects... In general, I love to learn, to be creative and to spend time with those I love. : )

I typically spend my leisure time

I love live music and yoga so I sing with a local band and teach a weekly yoga class. In addition to those, my closest friends and I cook dinner together every other week. We also enjoy watching movies or playing board games. I love most casual activities that allow me to spend time relaxing with friends. That being said, I do enjoy some time alone to read or just be outside. I also really enjoy outdoor adventure activities (camping, watersports, traveling), but since most of my friends have young kids, I'm looking for someone else to do those with now.

The most influential person in my life has been

Someone who is positive, curious and open minded, and humble while confident. He has a warm personality, values friends and family above ambition, but still loves a good challenge. :)

The last book I read and enjoyed

Most recently, I finished Mitch Albom's "Have a Little Faith" describing his journey of getting to know his childhood rabbi on a personal level after being asked to deliver the rabbi's eulogy while also getting to know a pastor in Detroit who had reformed after a hard life. Great book examining the commonalities in different faiths while he explores the questions that I think many ask about religion, death and life in general.

The three things which I am most thankful for

  1. I am grateful for the love of family and friends (who are also like family).
  2. I am grateful for my health and well-being.
  3. I am grateful for the opportunities and experiences that have led me to where I am today and given me strength and independence.

Friends Describe me as

Easy-Going, Good listener, Intelligent, Warm

A little more about me

I have two cats who sometimes act more like dogs. :) Also, I've been vegetarian for about 20 years for a variety of reasons. (I do eat dairy and eggs.) I don't expect my partner to be vegetarian, but I don't cook meat either so a willingness to at least eat a vegetarian meal now and then is helpful. :)
