More about me

The one thing I am passionate about...

Theatre, literature, music, traveling, and helping others in whatever way I can.

I typically spend my leisure time

- I love theatre. If I am not actively involved in a production, I am most likely seeing one. Although, I suppose it is not just theatre--I like most performance art. I love going to concerts or recitals as well. - I love traveling and seeing new places. Sometimes my friends in I will just jump in the car and road trip somewhere we haven't been. I don't mind if we stay indoors or if we camp out as long as I am experiencing something new. - Sometimes I like to just sit at home or lay by the pool and read. Give me a play or a good book and I will be content for a while!

The most influential person in my life has been

Hmmm....one quality? I would have to say open-mindedness. I think it is important to be understanding of other people's opinions and walks of life. Every person you encounter will be different and I truly believe that we can learn something from everyone if we accept them. If there is one things that bugs me it is people who are not open to other people's ideals. I think it is great to have your own opinions, but I think it is incredibly important to accept and understand where others are coming from. That is a quality I want in a partner.

The first thing people notice about me

I would have to ask someone to be sure, but I would say my openness. I am always eager to learn about another person and share myself with them. I tend to form close relationships very fast. I am fine with small talk and chit-chat, but I would much rather have an actual conversation with someone.

The last book I read and enjoyed

The Tao of Pooh. It was a really interesting book on Taoism that they somehow relate to Winnie the Pooh. Sounds weird, I know, but I promise it was really good. It was all about the idea of appreciating the little things and finding the beauty in simplicity. At least, that's what I took from it. I can give you a full book report later, if you like.:-)

The three things which I am most thankful for

  1. Friends and family for sure. I have been blessed with an awesome family and I think I just might have the best friends a girl could ask for.
  2. My students! I love my little rugrats and I really believe that they teach me just as much as I teach them. I am constantly learning from them and I am so thankful to be a part of shaping their lives.
  3. The ability to create. I feel very lucky to live in a community where Fine Arts (Theatre, in particular) are valued so highly. There is never a lack of opportunity to see or create art in this area. If I was unable to act or to at least see Theatre, I would feel very stifled.

The one thing I wish MORE people would notice about me

My loyalty. That's a hard thing to recognize in someone right off the bat, but I will prove to be a very loyal and trustworthy person. I stand up for my friends and try hard not to gossip. I would much rather enjoy people than talk about them. I try to always look for the good in people, which can get me in trouble, but I think it's the only way to be.

Friends Describe me as

Creative, Easy-Going, Intelligent, Optimistic

A little more about me

I am a very genuine person. What you see is what you get with me. I will never be fake, but I will be accepting. One of my favorite playwrights, Oscar Wilde, has a quote, "We are all in the gutter, but some of us are looking at the stars." I prefer people who choose to look at the stars :)
