More about me

The one thing I am passionate about...

I am most passionate about my kids. This is what has been "me" for so long. However, as they have become adults, I am looking forward to finding/renewing other passions.

I typically spend my leisure time

I love movies. Although I enjoy a variety of genres, the girl in me loves the "chick" flicks. I am renewing my love for reading. Nicholas Sparks is my favorite author. I am, also, reading faith/Christian literature as I rebuild my faith. While I do not spend time doing this, I enjoy sight-seeing. I have always found reasons (excuses) not to do "things"/go places. I would enjoy doing this now that my children are grown.

The most influential person in my life has been

My future partner must be a Christian. I do not expect him to be a "perfect" Christian - there is no such thing as we are "flesh" - but, I do expect him to strive to be a practicing Christian.

The last book I read and enjoyed

Nicholas Sparks' "The Last Song" is a story of reconciliation between a father and daughter prior to his death (cancer). This story exemplifies the importance of family as well as that of the bond between a father and daughter. The story touched me because I lost my dad five years ago to a massive stroke. While we had been very close during my childhood and early adulthood, we had not spent much time together during the years prior to his sudden death. Those are years that I will never be able to get back.

The three things which I am most thankful for

  1. I am thankful for each new day God grants me. I am trying to make each day honorable to Him.
  2. I am grateful for God's grace and mercy.
  3. I appreciate and love my family and my true friends.
