More about me

The one thing I am passionate about...

I love the world for its natural beauty. This leads passions for hiking and being outdoors. I also travel at every given opportunity presented to me. I love photography since its my way of recording beautiful things I see. I'm fascinated how and why things work in nature.

I typically spend my leisure time

I love going on leisurely walks on weeknights around the neighborhood. Grabbing a beer with an old friend is living life to the fullest! I try to do backpacking / camping trips whenever possible. I also think cooking a meal with a special person is one of the most rewarding ways to spend time, as everyone knows the kitchen is the social hot spot in any house.

The most influential person in my life has been

I think honesty is essential. Trust is built on this quality. Once you have trust, then that opens the door to all sorts of lifelong adventures that can only be shared between two intimate people. At the end of the day, two people still need to have a sense of humor and crave new experiences to perpetuate fun and happiness into the future.

The first thing people notice about me

I think people perceive me as being very open and friendly. I'm usually the guy that strikes up a conversation with a couple at a restaurant, or gets into a five hour discussion on the plane. Once I know you, my loyalty is unquestionable.

The last book I read and enjoyed

I historically gravitated towards non-fiction books, but I decided recently that I need to read more classic literature. I just finished reading The Call of the Wild by Jack London. As a naturalist, I could easily relate to the premise and descriptive language used. I'm currently reading War and Peace - another classic. This one might be a life-long commitment!

The three things which I am most thankful for

  1. My friends and family. I feel I had a privileged upbringing.
  2. Everything I do routinely in life I genuinely enjoy.
  3. Having the desire and means to travel.

The one thing I wish MORE people would notice about me

I've noticed there's a social stigma in San Diego for people who work as engineers. Although I do genuinely love what I do, I'm actually a very well rounded person who can't be put in a box.
