The one thing I am passionate about...
Being happy? can you be passionate about being happy? If so, then I am. I've been called "disgustingly happy" before, and you know what, it's true. I am disgustingly happy, cheerful, optimistic and positive. Sorry. :) I like enjoying my life. I like being happy, working out, laughing and hoping that great things are right around the corner.
I typically spend my leisure time
Depends on the time of year. The NBA season will find me out at Sixer's games, maybe to NYC to see the Knicks if the mood strikes me. Working out is a big passion of mine, so some times I'm at the gym or on my bike. Otherwise I like heading out to the park with my dogs, reading, watching TV, or wandering Wilmington, Philadelphia or Newark looking for fun, adventure and pie. I really like pie.
The most influential person in my life has been
Stability. I have it in my life and would prefer a potential partner to have it too. At this age I have a pretty good idea of who I am, what I want, and where I'm going. Having someone in my life that has all of those things too allows us to work on the journey rather than getting side tracked with self-discovery. Wow. That sounded incredibly pompous. I'll soften it up. :) I know what I'm looking for in life. I hope you do too.
The first thing people notice about me
Easily the beard. I have an awesome beard. I chalk it up to being from Minnesota. I'm like, 3/5ths lumberjack.
The last book I read and enjoyed
Griftopia, by Matt Taibbi. My academic interests have always been the study of how Wall Street and Washington DC interact at all levels. I have tons of fun learning about it, but like a lot of other things, the more you learn the more depressing things become. Griftopia is like that...a fun, albeit depressing book about Wall Street and America.
The three things which I am most thankful for
- My Great Friends who've been with me since I moved to Delaware
- My really fun job. Working in technology at a bank may not seem like much fun, but I love every minute of it!
- Yoga. Yoga has been my path back to mobility and fitness. it forces me to focus and concentrate. it reminds me there's no such thing as perfection.
The one thing I wish MORE people would notice about me
I'm not as dumb as I can sometimes come across. I'm actually pretty smart, but because I tend to be quiet unless there's something on my mind, because I was a Marine, because I'm from Minnesota, and because I'm a large, bearded man, when I say something insightful or pertinent people have a tendency to look at me in the same manner they'd look at a dog that just developed the capacity for speech.
