The one thing I am passionate about...
Living my life to its fullest. Having a core passion for creating an interesting and beautiful life. That being said, I've decided to not renew my membership (exp. 1/19/11) and am going to focus on self-improvement in other aspects of my life- school, work, outreach, friends- and cross my fingers I find true love wihout eHarmony's help... LOL. Good luck to us all! <3
I typically spend my leisure time
When I stay home, I really enjoy reading and cooking, a glass of wine or a beer depending on my mood, an occasional movie. Usually a friend over to share the meal or chat with. When I'm out- I like to hike (mornings), take drives, visit a museum or a zoo or just someplace I've never been, try restaurants, go to the muay thai gym, and visit friends.
The most influential person in my life has been
Inner strength. I think it covers all the traits I look for and admire the most- compassion, open-mindedness, resilience, kindness, generosity. Chemistry, in my opinion, develops from these things and it's something I always aspire to in myself.
The first thing people notice about me
Generally within the first 30 minutes of meeting me, I've noticed most people either comment on my being quirky-funny or my being well-spoken. I think being well-spoken comes out when I'm still a little reserved and am trying to get to know someone, and my being funny comes out when I'm a little more comfortable with the person. I love making people laugh and smile!
The last book I read and enjoyed
"On Writing" by Stephen King. He's my favorite author and it took me a while to get to reading this particular work because I'm such a fan of his usual genre. I wasn't surprised to find that I thoroughly enjoyed it. He's so gifted at making anything sound real, down to earth and easy to relate to- even something as potentially vague as "the art of writing".
The three things which I am most thankful for
- My belief in the good of people and of God. It has always helped me to find light in many situations and gotten me where I am today. It enables me to be kind, to be understanding, and to appreciate what beauty there is to be found- in anything.
- My family, especially my mother and my brothers. I feel lucky to be able to say I truly love them all and that they love me. I've heard of a little saying, "friends are the family you can choose", but if I had to choose, my family would still be the group of lifelong "friends" I appreciate the most.
- Having been able to travel and see some of the world. I'd like to see more of it. I think experiencing different cultures and being able to live in other countries has instilled in me characteristics that will benefit me all my life.
The one thing I wish MORE people would notice about me
That I have sooooo much to give! I'm not a showy person, but in my mind and heart, I'm confident in who I am and what I can offer the right guy. That if you spend enough time with me you'll see my potential as a fun, deeply satisfying, and ultimately amazing life partner, because that's the kind of life I want to share with someone.
