More about me

The one thing I am passionate about...

I like understanding how things or people work. I have a strong interest in the law, science and making things better.(The most common description of me at work is that I am a problem-solver.) I like helping. I am starting my life over, so I am exploring new options. I enjoy live theater, science and history museums, site-seeing, reading, spending time in nature and wine tasting. I have two rescued miniture schnauzers and I have started trying to do flamework (glass-blowing).

I typically spend my leisure time

Currently, I read and watch TV. I like good conversation (which means everyone contributes). I like going out for entertainment, but I also enjoy staying home and cuddling.

The most influential person in my life has been

Compatability - - Ok, I know that is a cop-out, but they asked for THE most important quality...what else could I say?? It actually takes several qualities: intellegence without elitism, integrity, warmth, the ability to be open and sharing, a good listener and an interesting talker, a sense of humor, and having balance in life (generous without being fiancially irresponsible...caring without being an evangelist...being able to love both yourself and others...curious without being compulsive, etc.)

The first thing people notice about me

I am a really nice person.

The last book I read and enjoyed

Most recently, it was "the Art of Racing in the Rain". I liked the story's perspective (that it was narrated by a dog), that the hero was rewarded for making the tough, moral choice, and that it had a positive and satisfying conclusion. I hate books that just stop or that spend two or less pages abruptly saying "its done" after spending 40 pages building up to the end. You wind up looking at it and saying "that's it?? you just quit? what about this and this and this? I spent the whole book for no resolution - what a cheat."

The three things which I am most thankful for

  1. I have (and had) a wonderful family
  2. I had a great marriage
  3. I get to do something of value every day

The one thing I wish MORE people would notice about me

I do like to have fun.

Friends Describe me as

Articulate, Caring, Generous, Intelligent

A little more about me

I am not looking to replicate or replace my dead husband. While I had a great love and marriage, it just means that 1) I am grateful that the first half of my life has been pretty wonderful and 2) I know what it takes to have a good relationship. I am looking forward to the second half of my life. I expect it to be different, but just as satisfying.Oh - and if I am slow answering, it is just because I am still working and can only do this at home in the evening. So, I only look in once or twice a week...please don't get discouraged.
