More about me

The one thing I am passionate about...

I am passionate about many things. I have mentioned that I am passionate about my daughter and family. I love what I sell and I am passionate about selling beautiful things. I love to travel and have spent 3 Octobers in Peru in the Andes and in the rain forest and before that Months in Indonesia, Africa and other parts of Central and South America. I have a real interest in people. My friends are important to me and because I choose virtuous people to fill my life, my life expands. I am interested in finding a woman who I can share these good things with....I don't think it is proper to end a sentence with with but that's the way it is.

I typically spend my leisure time

Well, I work from my home selling art on the internet so my time and leisure time gets mixed up which is good because I'm comfortable with it. I do a lot of adjusting in my environment both inside and outside but there again, it's just time, both leisure and not. I don't look at time as leisure...Actually, I'm basically retired so you could say it is all leisure. I enjoy my cat and I enjoy hiking in Griffith Park 3 or 4 days a week. In enjoy cooking. When it's cool, I have a fire in my fireplace. That fireplace has always been a source of joy. I really am very happy in my life, with my friends and family and don't forget the cat, Sam

The most influential person in my life has been

I am looking for a virtuous person. Someone who is their own person but wants and addition to their life. Hopefully, when I meet that person, they will want me to be that addition.

The first thing people notice about me

I would hope that people notice and appreciate my intelligence, interest and my directness.

The last book I read and enjoyed

I just finished River of Doubt, which traces Theodore Roosevelts' seach of an Amazon tributary and I am now reading City of Thieves by David Benioff that takes place in Leningrad during WWII. It's pretty violent but it is also funny. But what I read mostly is Tribal Art Magazine because I specialize in selling ethnic art, masks and statues. I also read The Sun Magazine which is a readers' sponsored advertisement free monthly magazine that has fiction as well as interviews, poems, etc. It's usually a good read and certainly worth subscribing too. My daughter got me that as a gift one year and I have been resubscribing ever since.

The three things which I am most thankful for

  1. As I get older, I get better, more relaxed. and comfortable with myself. Life is grand and I enjoy it and feel very youthful in it. I own my own home since 1979 and have created a wonderful environment that's relaxing and a pleasure to hang out in. I love hiking in Griffith Park. That park has changed by attitude, for the better, about Los Angeles where I have lived since 1973. I feel grateful that I was brought up on the Upper West Side of Manhattan. It gave me the opportunity to mingle with all sorts of people. It taught me the lessons of difference and adaptiveness. It takes all kinds and it's a wonderful learning experience. Thanks
  2. I have a daughter, a son-in-law, and two grandchildren and they are all great. They are all productive, good people from the youngest to the oldest. My only gripe is they live far away but the most important thing is their happiness and from what I can see, they are happy. I'm very proud of my daughter. She has always been a self-achiever and she has proven to be a wonderful, thoughtful mother. I have been very lucky and it's something I truly appreciate.
  3. I am very thankful and lucky that I was born an American. All you have to do is leave this country, look around and then look back. I say that as a liberal who has traveled through South America, Africa, and Indonesia. I feel lucky because I have been able to make a living in 3 careers over 50 years. Like a rolling stone, I have been a cameraman, a business owner, and now I sell art on the internet. As I said earlier, it's good to be an American. Once again, I feel very lucky and once again it is something I truly appreciate.
