The one thing I am passionate about...
The sea. Being outdoors. Working toward making a positive impact on the world. As cliche as it sounds, I'm all about experiencing new things. Language, culture, you name it. It is such a common misconception that you have to travel in order to experience the world, which is a tragedy considering how much cultural diversity surrounds us in our daily lives. Of course, I love to travel, but I also seek adventure and new experiences in my day-to-day life. I have a constant desire to learn and expand my knowledge as both a human and global citizen.
I typically spend my leisure time
I'm a pretty big fan of board game nights, Latin dance, and impromptu outdoor adventuring. Camping, hiking, fishing, kayaking, exploring, you name it. As much as I enjoy adventure and new things, I definitely am a creature of comfort at times. Comfy clothes, a glass of scotch, and snuggling up with Netflix or a good book are always a good time. There's a time and a place for everything.
The most influential person in my life has been
Respect, dependability, physical attraction, and sincerity. Honesty and communication are key. I'm direct, sometimes to a fault, but I always say what I mean and mean what I say. I'm looking for a decision-maker that can hold their own and challenge me to be a better person.
The first thing people notice about me
Typically, my sarcastic sense of humor. That, and my inability to beat around the bush when talking about just about anything.
The last book I read and enjoyed
A few recents have been a spattering of James Patterson, Tim Dorsey, and Carl Hiaasen. Throw in a little Paulo Coelho, Laura Hillenbrand, and I'm working on Game of Thrones. Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen is the all-time favorite.
The three things which I am most thankful for
- the experiences I've had, both positive and negative, to form who I am.
- the opportunities to pursue my education and academic passions.
- the support I've received from family, friends, and coworkers, despite all.
Friends Describe me as
