The one thing I am passionate about...
It is a bit cliche to say "live, love, laugh", but is the words I try to use as a guide. My family, my career, getting to see the world, enjoying the small things, quiet times, large gatherings and laughing till my checks hurt are things that tend to ignite my passion for life.
I typically spend my leisure time
I love reading a good book. After a crazy day there is nothing as relaxing with a good story that can transport you to a different time, a different place and allow you to forget about the piles of emails, meetings and phone calls. When possible I enjoy watching/attending sporting events. The obvious (for Cincinnati) are the Reds and the Bearcats (football and basketball). In some of my travels I have also been to some Premier League Soccer and the Australian open. The events, the crowds, the atmosphere and the athleticism can make for an electric event.
The most influential person in my life has been
A good person who tries to do the right thing. One that has a good heart, is independent and makes me smile.
The first thing people notice about me
That I can be very open and outgoing.
The last book I read and enjoyed
I recently read "Hunger Games.". It was a great book that kept me guessing, made me think and passed time during a long flight home. I haven't seen the movie yet, but think it will add to the book. Will start the next one shortly. Currently reading a Charles Dickens novel - I know pretty nerdy. It transports you to a different time and makes me laugh. Guess I have a better appreciation for the classics now then I did in high school. I also have recently enjoyed a few books by Janet Evonich that have made me laugh out loud.
The three things which I am most thankful for
- My family - doesn't matter the physical distance, we are there for each other and make the most of the time we get to spend together.
- An interesting career that keeps me on my toes and allows me the opportunity to see the world.
- For some good friends that despite distance or time can pick up a conversation like we just left off yesterday.
The one thing I wish MORE people would notice about me
I have a lot of varied interests - reading, sports, movies, music, travel - that makes it hard to put me into any one category. I am as comfortable relaxing at home as I am at a big gathering. I can wear jeans to sit by a lake, walk the beaches with the surf crashing, dress up for a fancy dinner, watch a high school football game or take in a museum. It is all about living in the moment and adapting to the surroundings - finding fun in every event.
