More about me

The one thing I am passionate about...

I am most passionate about the arts (specifically theatre and music) and teaching.

I typically spend my leisure time

When I have free time (which can be hard to come by!), I usually spend it visiting with friends over dinner/drinks or going out to the theatre or movies. However, there are some evenings when all I want to do is cuddle on the couch with a book or good movie and a glass of wine.

The most influential person in my life has been

This is really hard to narrow down, but I think if I had to choose one quality it would be authenticity. I want someone who knows who they are and what they want. Someone who is not afraid to say what they think and feel. Someone who marches to their own beat (and marches really well to it!)

The first thing people notice about me

I think one of the first things people tend to notice is that I am almost always on the go! I am an extremely busy person-- running from school, to the theatre, then to meet friends. Being really engaged in many different areas makes me feel alive! I never have time to get bored.

The last book I read and enjoyed

"Squirrel Seeks Chipmunk" by David Sedaris. I absolutely love his humor. This book of short stories/ essays is quirky, to say the least, with dark humor, wit, and many truisms thrown in. Now reading "It's Not All Flowers and Sausages: My Adventures in 2nd Grade". It is a hysterical take on being an elementary school teacher. Laugh out loud funny (maybe because I can relate to every story she tells!).

The three things which I am most thankful for

  1. I'd be lost without the love and support of my dear friends... they make me laugh, give me tough love, and bring me soup when I am sick!
  2. I am thankful that I get to do the things I love most: teach and work in the theatre.
  3. I am thankful for my mental resilience and physical health.

The one thing I wish MORE people would notice about me

That I have an adventurous and spontaneous streak in me! And that I am a truly passionate and compassionate person.
