More about me

The one thing I am passionate about...

Listening, sure it is clich´┐Ż, but people often tell me that they enjoy talking with me because they feel heard.Talking, goes with the listening but I like to talk too. Not sure if this is something I am really good at or just something I enjoy so much I don't want to think I am bad at it.

I typically spend my leisure time

1) Training my German Shepherd.2) Cooking is my catharsis! After all, frustration tastes so much better when it is put into pie.3) Making Balloon Animals. Yes, I am serious here, think life size sculptures.

The most influential person in my life has been

Someone who thinks that they can grow as a person with me and in the process we are able to make each other better people.

The first thing people notice about me

A co-worker recently told me that my smile is quite inviting as well as disarming. She came to this conclusion after she found herself frequently stopping to talk and share with me for no apparent reason. Also, my body language. People frequently tell me that they just feel comfortable being around me.

The last book I read and enjoyed

Bossy Pants by Tina Fey, is her autobiography. Honestly, I listened to the book on tape during a 20+ hr. car ride. I do read a lot but it is often journal articles. Anyways, Fey conveys her warm sarcastic personality and describes the hard work, luck, and opportunities she experienced in getting to where she is now. I found the book as well as her delivery funny and honest. The take home message for me was everyone has to work hard to get what they want even when they do not look like they are working at all.

The three things which I am most thankful for

  1. Family - because when I visit they give me a discount on room & board.
  2. The Internet - a way to fulfill my need for quick answers to trivial questions.
  3. Thumbs -Just think about all the things they allow us to do.

The one thing I wish MORE people would notice about me

That I have a dry sense of humor and that I am often joking.

Friends Describe me as

Good listener, Intelligent, Outgoing, Respectful

A little more about me

My sense of humor is hard to capture in writing and my lawyer recommends that I refrain from trying to be funny here (if you think I am being serious then you might have a hard time getting me).BACKGROUND INFOOriginally, from Boston so I can drop my 'ahrrs' if you ask and yes it is totally wicked awesome. After 5 years in Raleigh, I am semi GPS dependent. Why are there so few signs and why are they behind trees? My poor navigation skills (and I will not stop for directions), led me to the realization that in Boston all of my directions revolved around places to eat and Dunkin' Donuts.
