The one thing I am passionate about...
I collect CDs and am a deeply into music. Mostly, I listen to progressive rock from the late 60s and early 70s. Ever since I was 8 years old I have been buying and keeping records; the first of which was the first ever Beatles album and a Beach Boys album. Music has never gotten boring to me, even the same old songs. It constantly evolves and offers me new things. The memories that are linked with certain songs are some of the best that I have.
I typically spend my leisure time
I?m generally a social person so I love spending time with friends. I?ll do almost anything with them just to be in good company. Movies are always a fun way to kill some time, The Godfather and 2001: A Space Odyssey being the best of the best. I also like shopping, discovering "Diners, Drive-ins and Dives", and I enjoy rummage sales/antiquing. Getting out is nice, but I?m satisfied with simply kicking back and relaxing at home as well.
The most influential person in my life has been
Integrity comes above all else. It?s difficult nowadays to find someone who is genuine, and wants to be themselves; if I was interested in someone else, then I would be with them. Individuality is one of the most attractive things to me, and a lot of people throw that away. Other than that, honesty is extremely important for obvious reasons, as well as a good sense of humor.
The first thing people notice about me
I?ve been told I have a calming and inviting personality. I will warmly welcome people into my home whenever they need it, even if they don?t. Most of the time I?m laid back and can just relax, which gives me a more approachable view. Conversation is always welcome for me. I also use humor in everything I do. I get my sense of humor from my father and am the first to laugh at myself.
The last book I read and enjoyed
"A Dance with Dragons" by George R.R. Martin, the 5th book in the series, "A Song of Fire and Ice". The book was very enthralling all the way to the end. Just when I thought I had the plot figured out, Martin would take it in a totally different direction. His quick wit easily changes to harsh sarcasm, and the book along with it. It was a book that was definitely worth the read.
The three things which I am most thankful for
- Fantastic friends
- My sobriety
- Simply being alive
The one thing I wish MORE people would notice about me
I?m not full of it. Despite the way that I joke and kid around, I would never BS anyone. Life is too short not to have fun every once in a while, but certain aspects need to stay the way they are. Whatever I say, I mean.
Friends Describe me as
Caring, Easy-Going, Good listener, Kind
A little more about me
I have gone through a few life-altering experiences that no one should have to go through. Losing my daughter was the hardest thing to move on from, but I am happy with how I handled the situation. Remaining sober was the best possible way to continue with my life and I am ready for a new chapter.
