The one thing I am passionate about...
I'm really passionate about using the time I have to make a meaningful impact in other peoples' lives and to be as fulfilled in my own life as possible. In the professional realm, that means teaching and developing my own leadership capacities. In the personal realm, that means setting goals and investing a lot in myself and those that are close to me. On a less abstract level, I'm passionate about photography/videography, music, attending concerts, liberal arts/social sciences, and achieving physical fitness (an ongoing project).
I typically spend my leisure time
I love getting out of the house and driving somewhere to take pictures - landscape, urban, wildlife, or really anything. I really dig driving and traveling places in general, even if it isn't going very far (though far off destinations hold a LOT of appeal for me too!).I also love spending my leisure time with people I'm close to. That could involve dinner with those friends and then enjoying a movie, TV or something that generates a lot of laughs and discussion. I also like going places with friends. That could mean exploring downtown, grabbing a drink at Red Feather/Old Chicago, a movie, etc. In short, I like making memories.
The most influential person in my life has been
I'm looking for someone who has passionately pursued their own self-actualization and who looks for opportunities to make others smile. I like those smiles to come from engaging conversation, wit/banter, and a robust ability to laugh at things. Let's start there because for me, everything else that is meaningful in human relationships follows from those roots.
The first thing people notice about me
The first things people notice about me are that I'm very analytical, very observant, and I move with purpose.
The last book I read and enjoyed
I'm currently reading a book on change management put out by some high level researchers that work for McKinsey. The last thing I read for fun was Terry Goodkind's latest book, The Third Kingdom.
The three things which I am most thankful for
- My b.s detector/critical thinking skills.
The one thing I wish MORE people would notice about me
I feel pretty understood by the people around me. I love my friends and family dearly and even people that aren't at that level of closeness in my life have a pretty good idea of what I'm about because of how engaged I am with the world and the people around me.
