More about me

The one thing I am passionate about...

I am passionate about the people close to me: my son and my friends (and my dog, too). I'd go to the ends of the earth and back for my family and friends. I love running, particularly cross-country trails or just through the woods.. I am neither fast nor slow - I run to feel strong and clear my mind. I am also passionate about issues: health care, politics, human and animal welfare, and others. It's important for me to belive in what I do for a living, to believe I'm making a difference, even a small one, so I'm passionate about my work as well.

I typically spend my leisure time

I enjoy getting together with my friends to run trails then gather for food, drinks and conversation. I like going places: museums, plays, musicals, restaurants, and community events. I like to stay active, but also take the time to spend a while relaxing at home. A perfect day could be out-and-about or at home, just talking with someone I care about.

The most influential person in my life has been

I believe in honesty. It's the basis of trust and respect. Honesty is the basis of all relationships and must be maintained, even when it's difficult.

The first thing people notice about me

That I'm friendly and open and eternally polite.

The last book I read and enjoyed

David Sedaris - Squirrel Seeks Chipmunk. I love David Sedaris. His humor mimics my own in many ways and his odd way of looking at life through broken rose colored glasses is both funny and thoughtful. He has a way of presenting the bad and the good in life with a smile.

The three things which I am most thankful for

  1. I'm most thankful for my child. He is a beautiful person all-around: smart, caring, polite, respectful and of great character.
  2. I am thankful I can run, no matter how fast or slow, and be outdoors.
  3. I am thankful for my friends.

The one thing I wish MORE people would notice about me

I'm not really sure if there is a "one" thing, or more-than-one, for that matter? Everyone is different and notices things in different ways. I would hope that my desire to be friendly to others and extend my courtesy is obvious and noticed right away.

Friends Describe me as

Affectionate, Genuine, Kind, Physically Fit

A little more about me

There are many words that can be used to describe me...many. I'm fun, outgoing, sometimes shy, a super-dork, inquisitive, stubborn, happy, realistic, friendly, giving, and a lot of other adjectives. I try to live each day without projecting into tomorrow. There's too much to explore to slow down and too many flowers to pause and smell to rush by. I try to find a good middle-ground.
