The one thing I am passionate about...
I don't think there's anything better than standing around in the kitchen preparing a meal with a good glass of wine with someone else who also loves to cook. I absolutely do not need to be the chef or chief though. Most of my favorite meals involved accidents. I love wine, but appreciate an excellent beer. I even used to brew my own. I want to live life, not dream about it.
I typically spend my leisure time
I just moved back from France. The answer there was that I went hiking, I biked through the vineyards, visited historical monuments and sites, and cooked. Now I'm back in Houston and it's just too damned hot. So, I take yoga in the air conditioning. But I still cook! And I can't wait to finally go on that Texas barbecue tour road trip I've been researching. I would like to dance again.
The most influential person in my life has been
I love to cook and entertain, but not drive myself crazy doing it. I find it stimulating to experience new cultures and cuisines. I'll try anything twice, just in case the first time was a psychological mishap. So, the most important thing is that you have an adventurous spirit coupled with a relaxed appreciation for what's truly important in life....great conversations, with great food and wine, among friends and family.
The first thing people notice about me
Can I provide you with some of their email addresses eHarmony? I would be interested in reading that poll! I'm a great listener with a flaw. My eyes are too expressive which makes it easy to detect what I'm feeling.
The last book I read and enjoyed
Honestly, I prefer classic literature because these novels have endured the test of time for good reason. I was pleasantly surprised by my love for the Count of Monte Cristo! It had all the elements of gut-wrenching misfortune and vendication that make you appreciate your own mundane existence. (read sarcasm/irony/secret love of super heroes) I read cook books like novels and I'm also a closet science fiction fan.
The three things which I am most thankful for
- A loving and supportive family.
- The ability to think quickly on my feet.
The one thing I wish MORE people would notice about me
I wish they would notice that I'm just uncomfortable and nervous instead of assuming that I'm cold or aloof. When I first meet people I spend so much time listening and watching their mannerisms that I don't always contribute a great deal to the conversation. Once I'm more comfortable there is such a rich depth of exchanges and a truer sense for how deeply I respect and appreciate their opinions.
Friends Describe me as
Articulate, Easy-Going, Intelligent, Perceptive
A little more about me
What you see is what you get. I'm just as comfortable completely natural with no make-up as I am when dressed to kill. I NEVER fake laugh. I mean what I say, but don't have it in my nature to ever be cruel. And I'm also starting completely over again. I don't care about material possessions, but some of them are just necessary. So please keep in mind for now that my first priority will be getting myself established back in America...and this is entirely my responsibility. I have no ambitions or expectations for any relationship to help me out.
