More about me

The one thing I am passionate about...

Hiking. Good food. Arts & Entertainment. Animals (I can't imagine the world without them). The environment (have been recycling since my first apartment in Chicago). Learning new things. I also think Albert Schweitzer was really on to something when he said that those who are truly happy have learned how to be of service.

I typically spend my leisure time

Going on a good hike in the local mountains followed by a great meal along the boulevard. Editing photos & videos. Going to a screening of a new film or checking out an independent at the local art theater. Rescuing animals (but am probably doing more of that because I'm not in a relationship currently). I'm never really bored because I'll always find something interesting or constructive to do but, trust me when I say that I have no trouble relaxing. I hope this doesn't come off wrong but I love to sleep & am a firm believer in the benefits of a good nap. Just stopped myself from typing a smiley face. See, I can adjust!

The most influential person in my life has been

If I had to narrow it down to one, single, important quality I think it would have to be integrity.

The first thing people notice about me

It still catches me off guard and surprises me in a really cool way when someone says something like, "I love your laugh" - especially when it comes from such an unexpected person. I mean, I don't know many people who like their own laugh (*snort). Let's see... people often comment on my hats. I'm trying not to look at the drop down menu of "Sample Answers" but mine feel so lame right now. Can I go back & edit this stuff when I'm feeling clever?

The last book I read and enjoyed

"The Road Less Traveled" by M. Scott Peck M.D. Years before actually reading it I kept stumbling upon quotes that resonated so strongly with my own beliefs. I kept telling myself, I GOTTA get that BOOK! One day, I was sitting at an outdoor cafe in Vancouver, BC, and saw it in a friend's bag and thought, that's IT... and went directly to a bookstore immediately after. Everything I'd pondered or questioned seemed to be compiled in the pages of this book. M. Scott Peck best describes what love is by ruling out what is not love. I had the pleasure of meeting the author before he passed away.

The three things which I am most thankful for

  1. I'm grateful for so many things, it's hard to provide only three. I guess the main one would have to be my life and every experience that has brought me to this moment.
  2. Having entertained on board Cruise ships & getting certified SCUBA-diving in the Caribbean, toured many Cities & Countries, & performed on many stages. I was blessed to have a wonderful career in the arts & entertainment.
  3. I am grateful to have a roof over my head and not have suffered the poverty & violence of war torn & 3rd world Countries, nor the homelessness within our own Country.

The one thing I wish MORE people would notice about me

That I'm not as 'all together' as it may seem sometimes. I've often had people tell me that after they got to know me they were wrong about their first impression. Then, I've had others tell me I'm approachable, someone with whom they feel comfortable talking from the onset. * First impressions are very important... but that's also all they really are, aren't they?

Friends Describe me as

Articulate, Caring, Creative, Funny

A little more about me

What should my matches know about me? Oh, GEEZ, this is a difficult one to answer. I guess that I'm just as terrified as the next person. I'm not one to play games or toy with emotions. Life is marching on and I want to share what remains with a solid, joyful, life partner. I know it's possible because I already had it once. That couldn't have possibly been my one & only shot, right? All the best to everyone on this journey.
