More about me

The one thing I am passionate about...

Life is what you make it...so there are many passions in mine. I have an amazing family and wonderful friends who I enjoy taking trips, sharing vacations, and generally spending time with. I'm also enthusiastic about live music and I'm definitely passionate about my job which allows me to feel both challenged and fulfilled on a daily basis.

I typically spend my leisure time

I enjoy cooking, reading, and listening to music. I practice and/or teach yoga and meditation several times each week and try to get in an occasional run, hike, or camping trip when the weather cooperates. I also enjoy wandering through museums, cheering at ball games, completing DIY home projects, and spending time with friends...sharing meals, exploring local wineries, and playing games/trivia.

The most influential person in my life has been

Someone comfortable in their own skin, who has authenticity, self-confidence, and the ability to roll with life's punches. Someone thoughtful and quick-witted who laughs out loud regularly...possibly loudest at himself. Also a love of dogs, I foster and socialize pups that are eventually paired with veterans.

The first thing people notice about me

I'm genuine and direct...always honest and to the point.

The last book I read and enjoyed

Man Walks Into a Room by Nicole Krauss - This was a great read...unique and thought provoking. It focuses on a man's journey to make sense of life after he loses all memories of his past.

The three things which I am most thankful for

  1. My support system...family, friends, and co-workers.
  2. My job which allows me to give back.
  3. My education which has enabled me in so many ways.

The one thing I wish MORE people would notice about me

I try to be myself at all times...so what you see is what you get. That said, my work colleagues are often surprised to hear that I am a certified Yoga Teacher and my yoga friends are typically shocked to learn that I work as an Engineer.

Friends Describe me as

Caring, Genuine, Perceptive, Rational

A little more about me

I'm open, independent, and outgoing. My job supports the care of injured service members, so I can develop a rapport with just about anyone and tend to put people at ease. I'm a pescetarian who prefers hard cider to beer, chai tea to coffee, and phone calls to text messages. And I'm not ashamed to admit that I can talk at length about Jon Snow's parentage and the guilt/innocence of Adnan Syed.
