The one thing I am passionate about...
My greatest passion is food. I went to culinary school a few years ago, and I have a great passion for anything that has to do with food. I love cooking, going to the farmer?s market, and am equally comfortable eating at hole in the wall authentic eateries, or getting dressed up and going someplace fancy.I'm also a really big geek. I love comic books, and science fiction, and fantasy, and cartoons, and Disneyland and ever so much more.
I typically spend my leisure time
Like I said, I love anything having to do with food.I really love TV, and prefer it to films, because I love long format storytelling, and becoming invested in the characters. I am not a fan of finality, and that's kind of the point of moviesI also really love reading. I'm a big fan of sci-fi fantasy, and comics. I wish I could just sit around reading a lot more than I actually get the chance to these days.I recently took up painting, and am having a really fun time with that too. Kinda teaching myself, so the whole trial and error thing has been kinda cool.
The most influential person in my life has been
I?m looking for someone who likes to have fun, likes to try new things, go new places, etc. I fully cop to being a geek, and love it. I would love to find someone I could share my interests with, comic books, TV, sci-fi fantasy, etc. I also want someone who is a lover of food, has a generally optimistic outlook on life, is close with his family, is honest, willing, and respectful. One thing I'm definitely not looking for is someone to ?save me?. I want companionship, not a superhero.
The first thing people notice about me
I talk a lot. Like, a Lot. I'm very chatty, and very open about my life. I really don't believe in beating around the bush, I also am rather blunt and sarcastic. I watch a lot of funny, quirky shows like Community, Firefly, Arrested Development, and Party Down. These shows directly influence my vocabulary, an cadence, so I do need someone who can keep up with me. I believe I just proved my point.
The last book I read and enjoyed
Currently reading the Fire and Ice series by George RR Martin (psssst....those are the Game of Thrones Books). I'm on book 4 right now. I also just finished rereading A Dirty Job by Chris Moore, and American Gods by Neil GaimanI read a lot, generally sci-fi fantasy, or books about food. Honestly, I can read and enjoy almost anything if it's well written and engaging.Chris Moore is awesome because, not only is he incredibly witty, but he has the ability bring together so many different story lines. As for Neil (yeah, I call him Neil), well, if you don't know why he's so awesome, then...well...go Wikipedia him and get back to me. ;)
The three things which I am most thankful for
- My friends. Without them I don't know where I would be. I love my friends, who are like family to me. We share everything, and support each other when we need it.
- My cats: I got them in the divorce, so I promise I'm not a crazy cat lady, but my girl Pryia, and my boy, Finn, are very important to me and provide me with a less than empty apartment
- My ability to have a positive outlook on situations.
The one thing I wish MORE people would notice about me
That I'm a really sweet person. I'm genuinely caring, and most of the time, when I ask questions, it is not because I'm being judge-y, although it often comes across that way. Usually, I'm just happy to get an answer, either way. When I ask what time you're coming over, it's not because I want you there at a specific time, I just want to know when to expect you. Basically, I'm a person who can't stand to have a question mark over my head, I'm a planner. Similarly, if I ask why you didn't call or some other blunt question, it's just because I'm curious, not a raging psycho.

A little more about me
I really want someone who is open minded, and wants to go out and have fun. I don?t want a homebody, although I totally love hanging out at home a lot once I?m in a committed relationship. I just don?t want that to be all we do. I want someone who loves me, all of me, and not just the stuff they choose to love. I just got divorced, and so I'm not looking for anything terribly serious right now. I'm not opposed to it, should the connection be there, but I just want to be 100% honest about that from the get go.I am just a slightly older Amy Pond, looking for my Rory the Roman to come along on many adventures with me.
