The one thing I am passionate about...
Life! I am a passionate person who finds great peace in being true to myself and who I am. I am most passionate about raising my children to be positive contributors to society...to find themselves able to make a difference in the life of another. I wouldn't say I am passionate about my work, but more what I do; which is advocating for those who can't advocate for themselves. The fact I can make money doing what I love is a bonus. My personal goal of completing a triathalon before I turn 45 has become a fun and motivating force for health and wellbeing as well as a great outlet.
I typically spend my leisure time
My time is spent in cycling, walking/running, attending my chilren's sports activities, and finding new things to do. Fishing (fly and off shore--ask me about my record catch sometime), camping, and hiking are a great way to enjoy down time in Colorado. I enjoy skiing although it has been a little while since my last adventure in the snowy mountains.
The most influential person in my life has been
The most important qualities are honesty and integrity. I am looking for someone who is true to himself and who he his is as well as someone who loves life, is compassionate, loves kids, and someone who doesn't want to journey through the wonders of life by himself. Life's journey is much sweeter when shared.
The first thing people notice about me
I hope it's my caring nature and ability to put others at ease during stressful situations. Perhaps my ability to really listen and converse in a meaningful way. Hmm...maybe you can help me out with the answer to that question when we meet?
The last book I read and enjoyed
Relationship Based Care. This book is about bringing relationships back into nursing and treating the patients as a whole person rather than a number or disease process. I think it is a shame we now need to teach this concept that used to be instinctual in nursing care. This book has been a valuable asset in teaching the new generation of nurses. I actually enjoy a wide variety of reading material when I get the time.
The three things which I am most thankful for
- My children
- My family
- My job
The one thing I wish MORE people would notice about me
While my work setting necessitates my outgoing nature, in social settings it may take a little more time for me to open up. My sense of humor in a social setting isn't always readily noticeable. Another thing perhaps not outwardly noticeable would be that I have a strong desire to be relevant and contributory to things in life. I want to make a differnce.
Friends Describe me as
Caring, Genuine, Hard Working, Spiritual
A little more about me
I am a deep and caring person with a lot to give. My children and my work are only a part of what makes up my life. There is still lots of room for fun and romance with the right man. Also know it is difficult to really get to know someone this way, but it can be an open door that may not have been available any other way.
