More about me

The one thing I am passionate about...

I'm passionate about trying and learning new things - pushing myself out of my comfort zone, whether it be by visiting a new country or signing up for a race (doing the Tough Mudder this year!). I also love live music (Bon Iver, M. Ward, Josh Ritter) and art history.

I typically spend my leisure time

*Spending time outdoors/enjoying the beautiful Bay Area - Running by the Golden Gate bridge, hiking in Marin, hanging in Dolores Park with wine and Bi-rite *Enjoying food and wine - Going out to eat (7x7 list of 100 things to eat), having a nice glass of wine *Seeing live music - Love bands like Bon Iver, M. Ward, Fleet Foxes, Josh Ritter. Especially love the Fillmore. Also like the Independent and music festivals (Hardly Strictly Bluegrass, Outside Lands). *And all of the above with good company, of course. :)

The most influential person in my life has been

Trust. Trust enables people to open up and be who they really are. I want to be able to be completely myself around someone - the silly/goofy side, the serious side, the intellectual side, the fun-loving side, and so forth. And, of course, I want my partner to feel completely comfortable around me.

The first thing people notice about me

My laugh, my loquacious nature (or my penchant for using big words (j/k ;)).

The last book I read and enjoyed

Hmm..define 'read.' ;) I've started and stopped Shantaram several times, and I LOVE it but for some reason, haven't finished it.I read Stumbling on Happiness and really enjoyed it. I love reading about positive psychology and the art of happiness. I think of myself as a very happy person and strive to stay that way.

The three things which I am most thankful for

  1. Friends and Family - While far from perfect, I really love my family and know I can always count on them. And I definitely have many friends that I consider to be family as well - people that I feel very close to and relationships that I invest a lot of time in. I value loyalty above all else, and a good laugh over a good drink doesn't hurt either. :)
  2. Good Health and Attitude/Perspective - I feel like I've lived enough life to know what matters and what doesn't (easier said than done at times). I'm surpremely thankful for good health, a positive attitude, and laughter.
  3. Amazing Experiences/Opportunities - I believe in living life to the fullest and try to live my life accordingly. I absolutely love international travel and am grateful that I've been able to do a lot of it and adventures therein (scuba diving, skydiving, bungee, spelunking, and more). I am also very thankful for delicious food and wine, especially shared with good company.

The one thing I wish MORE people would notice about me

Well, I am very outgoing and love a fun time, but people who don't get to know me well might miss the deeper, more reflective side of me.

Friends Describe me as

Caring, Energetic, Funny, Intelligent

A little more about me

Well, hopefully it goes without saying, since this is eHarmony and all, but I am definitely only interested in pursuing serious relationships that could lead to marraige and kids. I love being in a relationship (vs. dating around a lot) and hope to have a family of my own one day. That being said, it is really important to me to find the right life partner - after all, a lifetime is a long time, Lord willing! I look forward to getting to know you better! :)
