More about me

The one thing I am passionate about...

I'm hoping to find the my next great passion though eHarmony. In the mean time, I'm occurring myself with my profession - I'm a pretty good software engineer - and my millions of hobbies. Lately Ballroom Dancing, Yoga, & Photography are at the top of the list but many others interests constantly complete for focus: for instance, my interest in flying could reignite and push Photography or Dancing to the back burner. I also, have not done enough traveling.

I typically spend my leisure time

There are so many things I enjoy doing. Right now I guess I'd say that I'm enjoying ballroom dancing, yoga & photography - but the list is a long one.

The most influential person in my life has been

The think I look most for now is Balance/wisdom/thoughtfulness, all related concepts. I'm not religious but someone who could be described as an "old soul" is somewhat close to what I'm looking for. Of course, how the soul is packaged is not unimportant. Finally, I'm libertarian about most things and it's somewhat important to me that my match doesn't have too strong a wish to govern other peoples lives or have a strong desire to force her views on others.

The first thing people notice about me

I think the first thing people notice about me is that I look like someone famous - which I guess doesn't count because it's appearance related. I'm not sure but I think (and hope) what people pick up is that I'm friendly.

The last book I read and enjoyed

Thinking Fast and Slow. It's about how we use our minds to form conclusions and several common flaw in reasoning that we pretty much all suffer from - all discovered in the last 30 years or so via experimentation. Reading it you can't help but feel that you are reading a very important book.

The three things which I am most thankful for

  1. The family I grew up in - I come from a big supportive family and we are all friends.
  2. My genetics. I attribute much or my intelligence and balance - and resulting success - to my genetic heritage. Also, I've been pretty health my whole life and expect to live into old age if not longer.
  3. The time and place in which I live: it's my view that it has been a golden age here in Silicon Valley for most of my life - especially for anyone associated with technology.

The one thing I wish MORE people would notice about me

I don't think this is something that can be noticed easily but I wish people could sense - and this is going to sound conceited - that I'm somewhat wise and that I'm a good person to talk to about stuff. I think I have a lot of things figure out and, more importantly, that I usually know when I don't know something. Either this or that I'm really Spider Man.
