More about me

The one thing I am passionate about...

In the past few years I have become most passionate about food. I eat mostly vegan now, except honey, and almost entirely organic. I have a large garden, which I tend with the mindset of being able to grow as much of my own food as I can. I view this as a political endeavor as much as a healthful one. Next would probably activities including yoga, mountain biking, skiing, hiking, canoeing, etc. I am not passionate about my work, aside from doing it well, and not bringing it home with me.

I typically spend my leisure time

Leisure time? What's that? Haha, Lately it seems everything I do is absolutely necessary, whether it be household chores, gardening, yard work, yoga, cooking, meditating, ... and rest. I have a stack of books waiting to be read, my mountain bike is collecting dust, and my road bike hasn't seen the light of day in a coon's age. On the other hand I did get a chance to see the latest X-men movie.

The most influential person in my life has been

Open minded intelligence, Compassion, and Honesty are equally important.

The first thing people notice about me

I'm generally pretty quiet, especially around groups of people I don't know well, yet most people figure out rather quickly that I'm more intelligent than average, but I have no idea how they can tell.

The last book I read and enjoyed

Flight Behavior by Barbara Kingsolver

The three things which I am most thankful for

  1. I am thankful for my health, and the intelligence and wisdom to maintain it.
  2. I am thankful for the friends that I have.
  3. And for beauty where ever I find it. Fresh snow, summer flowers, and sometimes even people.
