The one thing I am passionate about...
I am passionate about making the world a better place. You know those silly quizzes online that your friends and family take and post their results? Well, I took one about my ideal occupation, and it was "humanitarian". Although my professional career is not working for a human rights group, I think that silly quiz was quite accurate. I want to be able to look back and say that I was able to make things that I touched better. Even in small ways, like always smiling at passersby, or asking the grocery cashier how their day is going. I try and see the beauty where other see none.
I typically spend my leisure time
I love to cook. Something about the process of taking a bunch of whole ingredients and transforming them into a completed dish will always excite me. Cooking is both relaxing and energizing. My perfect way to unwind after a long day is to turn music on, pour a glass of wine and spend time in my kitchen. I love exploring different cuisines, and trying and tweaking recipes to make them my own. I also love to spend time near water, relaxing and listening to the soft waves.
The most influential person in my life has been
I am looking for someone who loves life. Someone who wants to share all of life's experiences: the good, the bad, the silly and ridiculous, and the mundane. I want someone who will find the beauty in the small things just as easily as they see it in the big things. There is nothing more attractive than a man who is intelligent and genuine. A sense of humor doesn't hurt either! I love to do all types of things, and I'm looking for someone who is comfortable just hanging out watching a movie, or taking a spontaneous road trip on a random weekend. I want someone who I will want to spend my time with.
The first thing people notice about me
I would say my smile. My boss has even said "I can't imagine you frowning - you smile even when you're delivering bad news!". I'm sure others would say my voice - it's a little on the high side!
The last book I read and enjoyed
I'm a news junkie, so I can't imagine my mornings without CNN's "5 Things to start your day". The last great book I read was "Dearie" - a biography on the great Julia Child. I love to read, and have read many amazing books, but the story of Julia's life is one that I imagine I'll read again and again.
The three things which I am most thankful for
- People who genuinely care about me, and all those who I love.
- My health. I try and take care of the mind, body and spirit.
- My ability to laugh at myself. I think it's important - especially in relieving stress!
Friends Describe me as

A little more about me
I have a bit of a google addiction? I blame it on a relentless intellectual curiosity. :) In reality, I'm an old soul with a bit of nerd streak - I love marveling at this beautiful world we live in, and can spend way too much time staring into the skies on an exceptionally clear night looking at the stars. I was very lucky to grow up with parents who loved to travel, and I've been fortunate to travel all over. There are several places I have yet to visit, and would love a travel companion to share those experiences with.I also make a mean margarita. :)
