The one thing I am passionate about...
improving the healthcare system, and providing high quality care that actually helps patients. This topic both motivates me, and also drives me nuts, because it is an endless battle, and often it feels like a losing battle.
I typically spend my leisure time
Riding bicycle, cooking (really, I spend a lot of time in the kitchen because it helps me unwind), watching Netflix. Lately I've been trying to pick up a hobby--like a craft! I also try to share my leisure time with exercise at the gym....when I can't convince myself I have a reason not to go. ha.
The most influential person in my life has been
Kindness with a spark in personality. It's really important to me that the person has kind heart that looks out for the good of others. However, it's not enough to be a "good guy," as there needs to be a connection between personalities. I really hate it when men describe themselves as "laid back." What does that mean? So I don't think I want that, because it's ill-defined and a cop-out answer. Sorry, not sorry. :)
The first thing people notice about me
My friendly smile, and outgoing approach. I could hold a conversation with a squash, or a white wall if I needed to. I'm also kind of tall, but not really (5'9"). People also notice pretty quickly that I'm honest and quite straight forward. Most people appreciate it, because they know I'm rather transparent. Some people are a little intimidated (or maybe the correct word would be put off, heck I don't know) by it. I'm generally a pretty nice and easily approached person.
The last book I read and enjoyed
It's been a while since I've read a good book that I liked. I had to read a book in grad school about some sort of mental disorder. I ended up getting a lot out of it. It was called "The Journal of Best Practices: A Memoir of Marriage, Asperger Syndrome, and One Man's Quest to Be a Better Husband" by David Finch.
The three things which I am most thankful for
- My family
- A good education and opportunity to succeed and accomplish what I want
- My health
The one thing I wish MORE people would notice about me
I have been out and about quite a bit between highschool and now. I feel like I get put into a box of basic white girls since I'm living back where I'm from--in the midwest. I wish people knew that I have a wild/adventurous streak, and know how to tap into that.
Friends Describe me as
Caring, Genuine, Loyal, Outgoing
A little more about me
Oh heyyyy. Here we are again, back on the online scene. The truth is that I'm really not a fan of this platform to meet people. Ideally I'd live in a place where 30 is the new 20 and not everyone is married with kids. That said, I'm trying to keep an open mind. I try to stay up to date on the events of the world, and am a fairly liberal democrat. I really can't stand our current president or anything he represents. I am a Mennonite, which is a denomination of Christianity, but don't write me off just yet! My faith is deeply personal and important to me, but I don't consider myself highly religious.
