More about me

The one thing I am passionate about...

eHarmony asks you to write about something that energizes and excites you. Well, how about good enchiladas? I've been known to do a little dance when the food is good enough. Or how about visiting some amazing place in the Sierras that looks like heaven on earth? That can enthrall me. Or something more work related, like when I help someone sincere really understand something, or heal from something, and move forward with their life with less fear and more courage. That's when I know I love my job and get that stab of joy/passion in my heart. Or how about really good ice cream?

I typically spend my leisure time

I want to say that I love to read, because I do, but I just don't seem to do as much as I'd like. I'd like to say I love to go hiking and be outside on a lake somewhere, and it's true, but I don't do as much of it as I'd like. Mostly I enjoy my friends, stay healthy with the yogas, meditation and some other things, & enjoying the beauty found all around.

The most influential person in my life has been

I looking for fun but sensible, creative but grounded, well defined but intellectually curious, flexible but with good boundaries, loving & caring with strength, spiritual without intolerance, intelligence without arrogance, committed to marry but not if it means choosing the wrong person, and family-oriented while being empathic to others.

The first thing people notice about me

I ask lots of questions.

The last book I read and enjoyed

I read a book by another therapist (such a clich´┐Ż), No More Mr. Nice Guy!, by Robert Glover. An interesting read mostly about the opposite kind of population I work with. I'm currently reading 'When Things Fall Apart' by the American Buddhist monk Pema Chodron...and I may be interested in rereading the Game of Thrones books again...

The three things which I am most thankful for

  1. Friends: they're always helping me and I'm just grateful.
  2. Career: it's good to love what you do.
  3. Simple Pleasures: the play of light thru tree leaves, a smile, and especially a laugh.

The one thing I wish MORE people would notice about me

Sometimes I can be serious...but only if it's actually important.
