The one thing I am passionate about...
I am passionate about today . . and the wonder, joy and surprise that may unfold. I am passionate about the freedom to create, think, and contribute to the elevation of human consciousness . . I am passionate about dark chocolate (at least 86% cacao with a hint of citrus); I am passionate about loving my kids (who spend every other week with me) into all that they can be in their lifetimes (or at least not hindering them as they take flight). I am passionate about being compassionate and kind where I can be, in a world in search of its soul . .
I typically spend my leisure time
I'm a natural observer of life, cultural trends, human idiosycrasies and spirit. So I like to blog on what intrigues me in the news, on social media, or wherever I happen to be when I'm inspired . . I love the outdoors, so a hike on the Creeper trail or a bike ride sounds like fun. I also love to swim in warmer weather . . and hang with my kids (11 & 9) at the park. I like to chill with a glass of wine, veg out with a good movie, listen to a little jazz or read a good book on science & spirituality (or a gripping novel) . . I also like to meditate alone or in a group setting - I find it centering and re-focusing.
The most influential person in my life has been
is a fun-loving openness to deeper companionship . . a grounded acceptance of knowing that there is no "completing" of each other or belonging to another . . only the evolving realization that perhaps we might just belong with each other - now wouldn't that be fun and interesting? Honesty, faithfulness, humor and kindness rank high on my list of qualities . .
The first thing people notice about me
Gentle demeanour . . Irish charm?
The last book I read and enjoyed
Beauty as A State of Being - Mastering Mind and the Spiritual Path (Solomon Kutz)
The three things which I am most thankful for
- I am thankful for the parents who sacrificed so lovingly to raise me . .
- I am thankful for the multiple blessings I've known in life . .
- I am thankful for being a learning-as-he-goes parent . .
The one thing I wish MORE people would notice about me
I care . . and have many tender feelings and compassion toward others and life in general; I guess I just don't wear them on my sleeve as much as others do . .
Friends Describe me as
Articulate, Easy-Going, Energetic, Spiritual
A little more about me
Life has blind-sided me many times . . I consider myself the more settled type and yet have moved around so much in my life . . I really don't know who I am but am fascinated when a momentary or singular connection with another reveals another layer to my mulitfaceted, enigmatic 'self' - if that makes sense? But then I don't consider myself all that different to anyone else . . We have different personalities/temperaments, and engage life from certain cultural and historical perspectives, but at the end of the day, I believe that we are singular spiritual beings having a blast on the earth's plane . . and hopefully not lea
