The one thing I am passionate about...
I am most passionate about seeking to place Christ Jesus and his glory as my sole focus. I say "seeking" because most days I am pursuing comfort and personal enjoyment instead of him. However, since I believe he paid the price for my wrongs by dying on the cross, and gave me hope for the future by rising from the dead, what else is there to be passionate about in the grand scheme of things? Secondarily: playing music, taking trips to other continents (or across this one), and generally accumulating interesting stories by making memories with others.
I typically spend my leisure time
playing on my keyboard or guitar (either worship songs or something I wrote), going disc golfing, playing computer games, tinkering with electronics/computer internals/software, figuring out how to fit the word "disestablishmentarianism" in everyday conversations, trying to muster up the motivation to go on a run even though it's fun once I'm actually on the trail.
The most influential person in my life has been
Besides a strong belief in Christ and a desire to continue to learn about him and obey his commands, I would say a willingness to try new things. I enjoy travelling, seeing new places, and trying new experiences, and I would like to find someone who is willing and even excited to try things she hasn't done before... scratch that, the second most important thing would probably be a great deal of patience and willingness to forgive, 'cause I can guarantee that'll be in high demand. ;)
The first thing people notice about me
Based on probable proximity, the photons of light bouncing off the tip of my nose are likely the first to enter their retina if I am facing them, so the first visual information they receive from me would be about my nose... But in all seriousness, it probably is that I'm bad with remembering names - I'll probably have to ask someone a couple of times before it sticks... but I remember faces a lot better!
The last book I read and enjoyed
Anathem by Neal Stephenson. Really good heady science fantasy book that pulled out the inner geek in me by including orbital mechanics, quantum mechanics, multiple-universe theory, and dealt with the dangers of scientific discovery in a unique way. Currently working through Milton's Paradise Lost and enjoying it immensely.
The three things which I am most thankful for
- loving and supportive family
- challenging and encouraging church community
- the ability to create and experience worshipful music for God
The one thing I wish MORE people would notice about me
My jokes are actually really intelligent and funny - I don't know why people groan and roll their eyes all the time... I'm just joshin' with them...
Friends Describe me as
Easy-Going, Energetic, Genuine, Optimistic
A little more about me
I'm more of a cat person than a dog person - partially because I was chased by too many strange dogs while training for cross-country in middle and high school. Once I get to know a specific dog, it's fine.About half of my childhood was spent in Germany as my parents are missionaries there.
