More about me

The one thing I am passionate about...

The Arts, creating community, my rambunctious maltipoo pup, social justice and activism, graphic design, politics and policy, theology/spirituality, laughing loudly, new restaurants, pajamas

I typically spend my leisure time

When I'm not working as a communications professional at a nonprofit, I enjoy playing games with my fiesty puppy, catching up on movies or shows on Netflix, getting to know new neighborhoods in Chicago, writing essays, and reading about activism, faith and the antics of adult life.

The most influential person in my life has been

I am looking for someone that challenges me to be my best self - mind, body, and spirit. I'm looking for that special person who can make me laugh, and laughs at all of my jokes - because I make a LOT of them. Mostly, I'm looking for someone who feels motivated in who they are and their desires for the world around them. More practically, I'm looking for someone left-aligned (politically and socially) who respects the centrality of faith and spirituality in my life, and wouldn't mind cuddling with my 8 pound puppy. She WILL cuddle with you. You've been warned.

The last book I read and enjoyed

Once I Was Cool by Megan Stielstra, a local writer and essayist. As I've been interested in writing essays of my own, I've been reading a fair number of essayists to inspiration, a sense of solidarity, and comfort.

The three things which I am most thankful for

  1. The generosity of loved ones and community members
  2. The ability to use my voice
  3. Iced coffee
