The one thing I am passionate about...
Creating the best learning experience for the little ones I teach is a passion of mine. I've been teaching kindergarten for 22 years now; it brings me a great amount of joy! In addition, nurturing meaningful relationships with my students and their families is very important to me.Playing the piano is also one of my passions. I fit in practice time daily.Keeping fit, a healthy diet and getting enough sleep is very important to me. You'll find me at the gym most days, trying new exercise routines or classes. My health and feeling good is something I'm very passionate about.
I typically spend my leisure time
In my free time, I?m with family and friends. Any activity is fine---going to festivals, out to dinner or for a drink, making dinner at my house, taking a trip. . .or even something as simple as taking a walk-----as long as I?m close to the people I love. Other times, I?m involved in some sort of kid-friendly outing with my girlfriends and their children. I like amusement parks, cake and jumpy-houses, so it all works out. But, the best times are when I?m next to the person who gives me butterflies. :-)
The most influential person in my life has been
Honestly, I'm looking for something like what my parents have. After 46 years of marriage, my Mother still takes pleasure in making my Dad?s life happy and comfortable--- and in turn, he does the same. I think it?s beautiful. I want to find that one, special man to come home to, who I?d be inspired to make happy. . .that one person, with whom I could let my hair down and safely lay my head on his lap at the end of the day. I?m in search of something close, real and long-term. I?m looking for a man open enough to want to experience all that life has to offer and strong enough to weather life?s storms together.
The first thing people notice about me
People notice that I'm physically fit, I'm happy, smile a lot, and that I have really curly, big hair!
The last book I read and enjoyed
The last book I read and enjoyed was a book recommended by a friend: The Gifts of Imperfection. In today's world, people can get caught up in what others think of them or in not trusting their own instincts, thereby losing their own "special" spark. . .which is what makes each of us authentic and beautiful! The book focuses on remaining true to who you are and exhibiting courage, compassion and connection in life. Very good read!
The three things which I am most thankful for
- my family
- my friends
- my beautiful life
The one thing I wish MORE people would notice about me
People often "judge a book by it's cover". Because I have crazy hair does not mean that I'm a "wild-child" or "the life of the party". I've always had long, curly hair---it's genetic! I am more traditional and reserved. Yes, I do love to get out enjoy life and have fun, I just don't want to be the center of attention.
