The one thing I am passionate about...
contributing to increase beauty and joy in the world. When I'm performing, I can't help but to feel connected, happy and blissful. Inside the sphere of oneness, we all are filled with joy/kindness/happiness/love. I am humbled when audience members tell me the music brought them out of their norm. I'm in awe that music can be a "portal" for us to get to a special place, where humanity can be at our "best." When teaching music/my instrument, I get to learn together how to unlock the key to our hearts through music. It's an honor to accompany students' musical journey as they explore/tend their internal landscapes.
I typically spend my leisure time
playing my instrument for fun, cooking, baking, taking a nap, and may be a walk in a park if it's not too sunny. I also love spending time with friends, or going out to eat really delicious food!
The most influential person in my life has been
Gentleness in his soul. Doesn't matter what his appearance is, but I'm attracted to people who have gentle soul, and people who are kind and considerate to others. It shows the strength in their character, I think. In an intimate relationship, I need to know that I'm safe--physically/emotionally/spirituality-- so that I feel safe to love and treasure him.
The first thing people notice about me
Depends on where you see me... If you see me on stage, I'm in my element, and you will notice big energy and joy. In fact, audience members (after performances) usually tell me that they watched me, noticed me, or couldn't take eyes off of me. However, if you see me in a big public space, like a shopping mall, I try not to be noticed and keep my energy field really small so that I won't be negatively affected by people energy.
The last book I read and enjoyed
I am taking a break from physically reading books because I'm still recovering from the massive overload of reading for research related books for my dissertation. It was fun, but I can't really read right now. Rather, I've been listening to books on CD as I commute to different locations, and the last book I enjoyed is about the Search and Rescue dog and her handler. I listen to books on CDs a lot. Mostly non-fiction, but I love reading novels when I'm in a mood for and when I have emotional space to be sucked into that world. When I'm busy, I avoid reading novels so that I can stay functioning on "this side." I do love novels, though.
The three things which I am most thankful for
The one thing I wish MORE people would notice about me
is that I'm energy sensitive. I'm ok performing in big concert halls, and I'm good with one-on-one. unless with people with good/safe energy, I might not like to go out with large group of people to a place where the energy is yucky. It doesn't mean I don't like the person who invited me there, etc.
