More about me

The one thing I am passionate about...

Stories of all kind. Books, film, theater, spoken word. I also love seeing and listening to stand-up and sketch comedy. No I haven't tried it myself, but I know more about it than I probably should. I like to laugh and listen to smart people drill down into the absurdities of life, sure, but even more so, it's the craft of honing a story. And to be so compelled to be on stage telling jokes that they take on a crazy life that requires years of work before they find their voice? I admire it.

I typically spend my leisure time

It begins around 7AM with dog face staring down at my face. There is second dog face staring at me from the side of the bed. They would like a walk. So would I. So we do. About an hour. If it's a Sunday, there is reading of a (real) paper along with a latte. I'm not fancy; I just love milk. I don't even need the caffeine. I wake up singing show tunes - not literally, don't worry. Unless that's how you roll, and perhaps there could be a medley of some sort. When I'm feeling quiet I make stuff - sweaters, scarves, hats, stained glass windows. When I'm not feeling quiet, I want to be with friends, hang out, and talk.

The most influential person in my life has been

Must be willing to go to comedy shows with me. I probably shouldn't lead with that, but it's true. I'm pretty positive, although not naive. Life is too short to be angry and judgmental on a daily basis. If we think something is crazy, let's just figure out how to make it hilarious and go from there. Aside from that... the usuals. Be nice to your mom, kind to animals, honest, respectful. Be able to admit to a mistake. I will too. Know some stuff. If you can teach me how to fix a leaky faucet, it's a bonus. (Note that I do not currently have a leaky faucet.)
