The one thing I am passionate about...
I am deeply passionate about living a life of congruity and integrity. I strive to understand and improve myself as well as the world I encounter. I put my whole spirit into just about everything that I do, and at the same time I think I keep a pretty good sense of humor about it all.
I typically spend my leisure time
I love preparing meals for friends, being in the outdoors, writing letters, fancy nights out enjoying the arts, reading, going on walks through the neighborhood to wind down for the night, and spending time with family. Health and fitness are very important to me and are incorporated in just about all parts of my life. I also go Latin dancing regularly, love watching live or televised sports, particularly rugby, and love local, domestic and international travel. Engaging in my local community is also important to me; right now I teach an ESL class and help out at a soup kitchen.
The most influential person in my life has been
I am looking for great chemistry with a partner; I want to be excited to be with him and entirely tickled by our conversations. Equally important is that he is open and honest and ready for the real deal. Also, I am looking for a true gentleman!Someone with an ingrained insistence on thriving, in every sense of the word. Someone whom I admire for the person they have made themselves to be and the way they move through this life. Someone who is largely self-sufficient, generally very capable, intelligent, and who knows himself well.
The first thing people notice about me
As far as personality, I think it is something along the lines of how I am genuine, earnest. As far as looks, probably my eyes; they are big and blue!
The last book I read and enjoyed
I recently reread East of Eden by John Steinbeck, one of my all-time favorites. I'm currently working through Arrncame la vida by Angeles Mastretta, a Mexican fiction written in the first person from the perspective of a very interesting and imaginative woman as she finds her way through life; it is a great read for improving my Spanish vocabulary! I'm also reading Force of Nature by Edward Humes; it is the story of the why and how behind Wal-Mart going green.
The three things which I am most thankful for
- My zeal for life
- My capacity for reason and understanding
- The companionship of good, candid persons
The one thing I wish MORE people would notice about me
I am open, forthcoming, honest, strong, and capable. I'll give you a constant one-hundred percent.

A little more about me
Dawn is my favorite time of day. I run in the rain at every chance I get. My favorite smells are the coming rain, horses, and burnt summer grass. Yes, I am a romantic at heart, but also a grounded realist. Some dealbreakers for me would be: if you don't take care of yourself, don't live with a lot of intention, don't enjoy pushing/challenging yourself, can't laugh at yourself, are not happy with the person you are, and, let's be honest, no butt. :-)
