More about me

The one thing I am passionate about...

I?m passionate about trying to be a good person, about living life as a decent human being. It would be hard to sleep at night otherwise! That doesn?t mean I don?t ever have a drink with friends or that I don?t swear a bit when the wrench I?m using slips and I smash my knuckles into something. It means that I want to be able to feel good about myself and the decisions I have made. It also means that I try to be there for the people who are close to me. Second to that, I?m passionate about exploring the world around me and trying new things. You have to live a little or life would get repetitive and boring pretty quickly.

I typically spend my leisure time

Most of my leisure time is spent seeking out new adventures, learning new things, and exploring unfamiliar places. I enjoy being outside and love scuba diving, camping, hiking, and climbing Mt. Shasta. And since keeping fit is important to me, I always try my best to make time for the gym. If I?m home, you might find me working around the house or involved in some kind of DIY project. I ride my Harley whenever I get the chance, and also try to spend a good amount of time volunteering. I?m always looking for new hobbies to tackle. My latest conquest? Learning to play the guitar!

The most influential person in my life has been

It's of course very hard to pick only one thing as the most important, but if I had to choose, I would have to say compatibility is the first thing I look for in a person. It?s kind of a broad term, but for me it means finding someone who I genuinely enjoy being around and that enjoys being with me. Ideally, that would mean a woman who has a playful, upbeat, positive personality balanced with intelligence and class.

The first thing people notice about me

My sense of humor. I really enjoy seeing people smile and hearing them laugh. It?s definitely one of my best traits.

The last book I read and enjoyed

Usually when I read it?s to unwind and relax, so I look for books that are both funny and entertaining. Although I enjoy just about anything that brings a smile to my face, I find that I pick up sci-fi books more than anything else. The last book I read was "The Vor Game," by Louis McMaster Bujold. Not only was it funny, but I really identified with the main character (at least his hyper side). A great read for sure.

The three things which I am most thankful for

  1. Friends and family, including my dogs
  2. A job I love
  3. My toys (car, motorcycle, Xbox)

The one thing I wish MORE people would notice about me

Honestly, I don't think I have ever found myself thinking "If only that person had noticed X about me right away". Although, this could be a fun question with a large group of friends when goofing off. For me, the bottom line is that I'm me and I'm happy with who I am. I don't think that there is really anything that I wish people would notice about me.

Friends Describe me as

Funny, Genuine, Intelligent, Kind

A little more about me

Recently, I got to do one of the most amazing things ever. Because of my work, I got invited by NASA to go so the launch of something that I poured several years of my life into. I'm still not sure how to describe what it felt like to see something I actually touched leaving the earth at Mach 10. I was also recently in the news for an activity I volunteer at - Ok, It's a paper in the middle of nowhere but it's still neat. I would like to link to the article but having a link made EH mad...
