Wow, I am soo shocked. I never dreamed that the world has been so different since I was in the dating game. I was married 25 years, lived in a small town 43 years, and have three children in college. Then I moved to big city Tulsa, Ok when my mom died in 2004 and consequently went thru a separation, I just started trying to see men again last year after getting divorced. Just last week I was point blank told that I could not expect to date now a days without wanting to up front have sex. I am sorry, I am not that kind of gal. Geeeez, what ever happen to "lets get to know each other first?". I am not saying that sex wont follow, but no way am I going to have dinner, movie and sex in the first meeting. So there for I have not have not got past the first meeting since I joined this site one and a half months ago. Any advise? Yes I am old fassioned. I did have a serious relationship with a man after my divorce but it did not work out. I was very heartbroken and still am. I just want to have some fun as a single without being in danger or feel I am forced into sex to seal a deal, so to say. Is there any men left in this world that will not expect sex one the first date at my age?

I think it's interesting that "sex" is out on top and then also "emotions" is right out there with it. Isn't it amazing how closely they are connected to eachother compared to other types of connections that could be made?
I actually think it's great that people don't mind bringing up "sex" in this way. And what better way of asking for more help and info. when involving a relationships big concern over sex and those emotions that blossom from it.
It's also great the people are trying to break free of it being so tabu and religiously wrong to even "think about"......let alone discuse in open conversation or learn about from people that come from all walks of life.
And this isn't just some rounchy or pornographic site either. It's people striving for relationships in their lives and seeing the importance of it for any society in general....no matter the culture or background.
So I'm glad there is open honesty......even as we try to walk forward in bringing this up while government and social rules and ettiquet are trying to regulate our abilities to have it be understood. (It does get "understood" but usually in wrong ways if left "high and dry" on the subject.)
It's also comforting that trust, love, dating, and attraction are all subjects of interest too......(not so tabu and out on the limb for feeling vulnerable.....yet so important for what we are striving for as we connect with each other over the internet.)

How does a divorced Dad balance a new girlfriend when he has a responsible job and is the primary caregiver? Any ideas that work for planning dates? I hear its good to wait before meeting the children. Tips for the girlfriend when she's feeling alone and excluded?
