Something to Talk About is designed to make it easier for you to connect with your matches by highlighting when you share common interests across a wide range of areas such as movies, music, pets, politics, finances, and more. It’s like an instant conversation starter!
How does Something to Talk About work? You start by filling in your own interests:
1. Log in and click on the “My Profile” tab
2. Click on the new Something to Talk About tab
3. From there, just fill out as many or as few of the questions in any of the 11 categories:
From then on, anytime you and your matches have interests in common, we’ll be sure to let you know. How? When you and your matches share things in common, you’ll see a new Something to Talk About box on the right side of the match profile page.
The box has your common interests broken down into individual categories, making it easy for you to find the one that you’re most interested in talking about.
So if you were matched with Kate, when you’re using eHarmony Mail you can ask her about her favorite city in Switzerland, tell her about your favorite hole in the wall Italian place and feel pretty confident that she will have a knowledgeable opinion on the subject. You can even write something like, “eHarmony told me you like science fiction movies. What’s your all-time favorite?” Perhaps more importantly when you start writing about the last book you read you can be at ease knowing she isn’t going to say, “You’re a reader? Ugh. Who’s got time to read anymore?” Heck, she will even like your jokes.
It’s a great way to kick off your personal communication.
