Reginald and I met on eHarmony at the end of October 2007 and met for the first time on November of 2007. He met my parents the Thanksgiving holiday of 2007 and I met his parents for his May 2008 graduation. We have been commuting between Pennsylvania and New York as to make our relationship work. Most times we have been on the phone as our main source of communication and seeing each other every other weekend.
This went on for the first 5 months, and then after those months we began seeing each other more weekends. It has been strenuous at times because we missed each other so much; however we knew that we were both worth it in giving the relationship a chance to grow. So in moving forward, on the day of the proposal Reginald took me to a ballroom crash course on the various styles of dance (I dance ballroom) and so it was very nice of him to share the experience of dance with me, then we went to Central Park and walked around in NY and then we went to the restaurant of the Waldorf Astoria Hotel in Manhattan, where he proposed to me in a very surprising way.
When we were being served our desserts, the waiter brought both desserts with the covers over them and lifted Reginald’s cover which was his dessert and lifted my cover which had the ring in the box and then Reginald came over and proposed to me. I was totally speechless to the point where a woman at our neighboring table, literally yelled to me “IS THAT A YES”, in which I snapped out of my daze, said yes and hugged and kissed him.
He had already went to my father, so my family was in on it and the restaurant staff was in on it and that was how he got me.
Our wedding date has been set to March 14, 2009 and we are both excited to begin this endeavor together called marriage.
