Do You Lose Your Identity in Relationships?

What makes you YOU? The chances are, you could tell me at least a half-dozen things that define you. You may even fall into a lifestyle “type” – musician, biker, hiker/camper, triathlete, etc. These kinds of lifestyle choices help determine who our friends are, what clothes we wear, where we hang out, and how we […]

Compatibility: It’s Not What You Think It Is

If you’re using eHarmony, it’s likely you put some value on compatibility. After all, that’s one of the pillars of our matching philosophy. Why You Should Be a Selfish Dater

From the time we’re little children we are told to share. We’re told to be thoughtful, and to put others ahead of ourselves. “Don’t be selfish!” is a refrain heard in homes up and down every street in America. When it comes to little children and toys the lesson is necessary. When it comes to […]

Matters of the Heart: Being Flexible Versus Settling

In 2009, Internet entrepreneur Kevin Systrom created a mobile app called Burbn, (get it?) which let users check in at a location, make plans for future check-ins, earn points by checking in friends, and post photos of the get together. It was complicated, but it was what Kevin wanted to build, and so he did […]

4 Big Online Dating Mistakes People are Making Right Now

Online dating has changed a lot in the last few years. As technology advances, social norms morph, and personal preferences change, the decisions and mistakes people make evolve as well. Last year, I oversaw the launch of a new version of eHarmony, eH+. It’s a premium service that takes eHarmony’s matching algorithm and combines it with […]

Why Does eHarmony Offer Matchmakers with eH+?

Staff writer at Entrepreneur magazine Laura Entis published an article today with a very provocative question as its headline: Why on Earth does eHarmony Offer Real-Life Matchmakers? I’m happy to answer that question. As most of you may know, in January eHarmony launched a new service called eH+, which combines eHarmony’s compatibility matching model with […]
