I'm male. Here in Dixie (TN), its generally accepted that its the man's responsibility to take the risk. I've been rejected so many times (I'm age 46.) that I've just gotten used to it. Every once in a while, I'm not rejected for awhile and its lovely. I do everything that I can for her. Then she eventually uses me up [I have no more resources for her.] and she discards me and I'm back at the beginning of the cycle. Down here, that's life. Eventually, I've simply developed enough scars that it doesn't hurt as much as it did at start. That's how I've delt with it. It seems to me to be biological fact that men crave women a lot more than women crave men. I've heard biologists explain the chemical reactions that cause this fact. I've heard psychologists explain the evolution (historically speaking) why people's minds developed the way they are. (Women, for many centuries were stuck at home taking care of babies and needed the company of other adults (women); men were the ones out hunting and/or combating; again, we haven't developed that far past those days, yet.
