We Respond to the ‘Crazy Cat Lady Video’

June 10, 2011

Debbie LOVES cats, and her video below is proof. Yes, it’s a spoof. eHarmony doesn’t have video profiles, but this woman is GOOD, and we love it. In fact, we thought we’d help Debbie find her soul mate. We drafted some eHarmony employees and shot a response, also below.

And now, there is a collection of similar spoof videos popping up — Debbie, Lib Dem lover, beer guy- we love them all so much we want to put them in a basket.

Days like this make it fun to come to work.

I love how someone just happened to have a cat costume laying around.

  2. Cat

I dunno, is that really a cat?

To bad it is a fake because I to love cats and after I retired I bought a farm so that I could rescue cats. No I am not that old I am a disabled veteran. And rather than looking for love I give it to the less fortunate cats. It was a cool idea that there were others of like mind willing to stand up for what they love.

Good for you Mike. That would be one of my dreams to fulfill, which I undoubtedly never will be able to. I think the video is a spoof and even if it was not, this woman is not doing much for promoting the image of all the caring and compassionate people who spend serious time and money to do a hard job that most local communities turn a blind eye to.

Sad that Eharmony would endorse such an idiot. It was obvious her video was fake…and it’s humor appeals to the lowest common denominator of humanity.

If this was actually clever or amusing it might have been worth posting. Not only is it not humourous (although apparently the poster fancies herself quite clever), but it makes light of a very serious issue – the animal overpopulation and homelessness crisis. I volunteer at the SPCA and it is no laughing matter. Instead of making fun of people who are trying to make a difference in the world, and painting them as crazy (even in jest), this woman should get off her butt, go into the world and make a positive contribution to society and to those who cannot speak for themselves. Thousands of absolutely wonderful, healthy cats and dogs are killed EVERY DAY in shelters all over the country for lack of homes and because people like her are too selfish and don’t take the issue seriously enough to do anything about it. I assure you that one week volunteering in an animal shelter would cure her of any delusions that this is a laughing matter.

I see no way in which this paints people who actually care about animals (cats in particular) as crazy people. This isn’t poking fun at people who care about animals, but one specific type of people, who do exist and are a laughing matter. Grow a sense of humor. Just because you have a heart doesn’t mean you can’t laugh at stupid things that were made to laugh at.
